Curtains drawn on “Akhanda Bhajan Saptah” of Sri Vithoba Rakhumai Temple

Mangaluru: A prominent religious center in the coastal city, Sri Vithoba Rakhumai Temple had been observing a 7-day-long bhajan programmed called “Akhanda Bhajan Saptah” which had the curtains drawn on the account of Karthik Ekadashi (auspicious day in the Hindu calendar).

In the early hours of Monday, November 19, the deities were cleansed with Panchaamratha Abhishekam, Pulaakaabhisheka and other ritualistic cleansing processes.

In the noon the deity was decorated with a variety of flower garlands and “Maha Mangalaarthi” (a Hindu ritual of lighting wicks soaked in gingely or coconut oil or ghee) was offered.

Later, all the devotees gathered were served with fruits and items that had no rice content.

Offerings were brought in procession from Sri Venkataramana Temple, Car Street to Vithoba Rakhumai Temple.

Prominent Singer Puttur Narasimha Nayak, rendered famous devotional composition.

At night “Maha Pooja” was offered to the deities.

Thousands of devotees participated in the ritual.

Temple trustees G Hanumanth Kamath, Maroli Surendra Kamath, Mohan V Kamath, U Vishwanath Nayak and others were present.
