Mangaluru: The Easter Celebration commenced at 7:30 pm with the blessing of the new fire by the main celebrant Rev Fr Clifford Simon Pinto. The Easter Candle was lit and carried to the Alta, calling on people to walk in the light of Risen Christ.
Fr. Andrew Leo Dsouza, Parish Priest sang the Exultant – the Easter Hymn. Five readings from the Sacred Scriptures gave a glimpse of the salvation story of Israel and mankind in general. As the Gloria resounded in the air the image of Risen Jesus got unveiled.
Later, water was blessed and baptismal vows were renewed. Rev. Fr Cyril Lobo Assistant Parish Priest, Rev Fr. Lawrence Pinto, Rev. Fr. Ravi Bathula, And Rev Fr. Stervin were the concelebrants. After the Mass, Parish Priest greeted everyone and thanked all who toiled hard to make the liturgy of the Holy Week a fruitful one.
