Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association and Nitte K. S. Hegde Medical Academy, Hospital Deralakatte in collaboration held a first aid training camp for journalists at Patrika Bhawan in the City.
Inaugurating the camp, Chancellor of Nitte University Dr. Satheesh Bhandary said that having first aid skills is necessary to protect our lives and the precious lives of others. Even today, every year thousands of patients die before being admitted to the hospital in emergency situations in our country. But getting first aid in such a situation can save many precious lives. The work of giving first aid information skills to those who are working at different levels of the society is going on through Kshema, he added.
K. S. Hegde Medical Academy Professor Dr. Gayatri Bhat (Department of Anesthesiology and Emergency Care) was the Chief Guest. President of District Working Journalists’ Association Srinivasa Nayak Indaje presided over the ceremony. Journalist Association General Secretary Jitendra Kundeshwar delivered the vote of thanks. Treasurer Pushparaj B. N. inaugurated the programme. Vice President Ansar Inoli coordinated the programme. Vice President Bhaskar Rai Katta and office-bearers of the association were present.
