Madanthyar: By donating blood, we can become the saviours of others’ lives. With this great motive in mind, the ICYM Madanthyar unit organised a blood donation camp in memory of the Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus’ post centenary silver jubilee under the Red Drop campaign.
On Sunday, the camp was kicked off with a meaningful inaugural programme held in Guardian Angel School. Rev. Fr. Basil Vas, the parish priest, presided over the inaugural programme.
On this occasion, Fr. Jerome D’Souza, Principal of Guardian Angel School, Fr. Alwyn D’Souza, Assistant Parish Priest, Manish Varado, ICYM President, Balakrishna, Blood Bank in-charge of A J Hospital, Rohan Lewis, PRO, ICYM Central Council, Tyson D’Cunha, ICYM President and other ICYM members were present.
Balakrishna, in his address to the gathering, spoke about the significance of blood donation. Rev. Fr. Basil Vas, in his presidential note, appreciated the ICYM members for organising the camp and Tyson D’Cunha welcomed the gathering and Secretary Arvin Moras proposed a vote of thanks. In all, 57 people from the vicinity donated their blood, setting a very good example for the rest of the people.
