Mangaluru: Jeevandhara Social Service Trust ® celebrated International Women’s Day on March 13th, 2020 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart’s Primary School Hall Kulshekar. Dr. Bhagyalakshmi, the medical officer of Beedi workers’ welfare office, Padil was the chief guest, Sr Anna Maria BS the Secretary of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust ® was the President, Dr. Vidya Vinutha DSouza, the Lecturer of St Aloysius College MSW Department was the resource person. Sr Rekha BS the Director of Jeevandhara Centre Kulshekar welcomed the gathering. Dr. Bhagyalakshmi explained the various schemes from the Government for women in the unorganized sector. Dr. Vinutha gave the lecture on communication skills for women and to be effective in public spheres.
She quoted the examples of some of the women who are achievers. Sr Anna Maria BS in her Presidential address called the women to get into the public sphere and address the various issues of society. Women from 13 Self Help Groups, MSW students of St Aloysius College and tailoring students were present and participated in the program. Sr Ida Janet, the coordinator of Jeevandhara Social Service trust presented the report. SHG women and the tailoring students presented the cultural program. Mrs. Bharathi proposed a vote of thanks to all those who were part of this venture. Mr. Rahul, the MSW student of St Aloysius compeered the day’s program. It was indeed a joyful day for women.
