Kumarnath said that a healthy society is possible only when journalists report on behalf of the truth and tell people about the real things, no matter what the change is.
He further mentioned today’s need for multi-skilled media. “The new media has created a lot of opportunities even though the press has been subjected to a lot of confusion after the economic crisis, and the corona pandemic.
The award I have received is a tribute to the villages.”
“Human values and harmony are still reflected in different ways in the villages and I am happy that this honour has been given to an article written in that direction,” said Adike Newspaper Assistant Editor N. Karanth Peraje, who received the Brand Mangalore Award.
Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association President Srinivas Nayak Indaje presided over the function. State Executive Committee member Jagannath Shetty Bala and Press Club President Annu Mangaluru were present.
