Mangaluru: Rs 50L worth development work launched at Sutarpete

Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) MLA Vedavyas Kamath has launched development works worth Rs. 50 Lakh for the development of Sutarpete area of 59th Jeppu Ward on Tuesday February 7.

The MLA said that the funds would be used for the development of roads in the vicinity of Koddabbu Temple, reconstruction of dilapidated library, Anganawadi and Mahila Mandala rooms.

Bharat Kumar, a member of the 59th Ward of the Corporation, had brought to his notice the problems and the development worka to be done. “Accordingly, Rs. 50 Lakh has been sanctioned under the State Government’s Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojna and the works will be carried out with this grant,” said MLA Kamath.

“When Former Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa came to the City, I had requested for funds for development projects in the City. Yediyurappa immediately announced Rs. 125 Crore. Not only that, he also ordered the release of the money. The present Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has also taken great care and released the funds. I would also like to congratulate them,” the MLA added.

“A drain will be constructed at Jeppu Bappal at a cost of Rs. 1.25 Lakh, while a new library, anganawadi, mahila mandala building will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 50 Lakh. A library for students of this locality, and an office for mahila mandala is being constructed,” he said.

V. and staff Mamta Rai, Savitha, B. Vishukumar and Sumitra were present.
