Bengaluru: Spearhead Media Group, Mentor and Advisor CA Valerian Dalmaida met handful of selected known thinkers and budding writers of Karnataka. The meet was held to discuss and find, what area of the State and which group of people in the State have no platform to talk so that the Spearhead Media Group can create a platform for them to talk.

In the gathering there were thinkers like Prof. Narayanswamy, Dr. Himanshu, Dr. Y. Mariswamy, Dr. Ravishankar, Dr. Akthar, Prof. Vaddagere Nagarajjayya, K. V. Balakrishna and the Spearhead team with Loyola Team.

To give a fitting start to the discussion there was Jambe, one of the rarest and noble folk music by Balu Jambe and Nagesh. To the rhythm of Jambe all the thinkers of the gathering were snapping and nodding head in joy. They are also voiceless and the Spearhead has already fixed a programme with them to provide them the platform.

The gathering was to the responsibility of Loyola Degree College under the leadership of Principal Fr. Francis D’Almeida SJ, Dr. Kumarswamy, Swetha Wenona, Ronson,  Lazarus and Roshan.

The discussion suggested that there are children of the nomads who could be given a chance to talk since they are one of the voiceless.

There are languages that have been lost since they are spoken by some of the interior villagers who are very few but has centuries of history. This kind of languages can be given focus, it was suggested.

Speaking about health and medicine, Dr. Himamshu said that the concept of health is political issue which people have comfortably forgotten or avoiding from listening from people. Therefore that could be one of the areas.

Instead of romanticising the successful ones, try to find why there are many who haven’t done well. That would open the minds the society, it was discussed.

Not only the illiterate part of the society but also the literate part of the society is highly undisciplined and hence a proposition to look into that sector was putforth.

“There are many women or girls who are struggling to get a platform to speak up because they are being pressed down by the caste or religious ideologies. Can they also get a chance?”

It was ultimately decided that to do all this first there should be a team of researchers who could exactly find the section of the society which needs a platform to speak.
