Manjunath Bhandary welcomes Govt action on ULB staff

Mangaluru: Manjunath Bhandary has welcomed Govt action on ULB staff. He released a statement as below on this.

It is reported that the government is already working to make more than 25,000 temporary employees of 312 urban local bodies in the state and to regularise  them and to cover with direct  cash payment

In this regard, the Hon’ble Municipal Administration Minister, who answered the unstarred question number 986 asked by MLC Mr Manjunath Bhandary in the winter session held at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, Belgaum, regarding the consideration of water supply assistants/helpers/valvamans who are managing the water supply on outsourcing and daily wage basis in the city councils, municipal councils and town panchayats of the state under special appointment.

The concerned minister gave a written reply saying that the direct cash payment system will be brought under to cover the employees who are working on outsourced basis.

MLC Mr Manjunath Bhandary has welcomed this decision of the government and requested the government to take immediate action in this regard and look after the welfare of the temporary employees of the urban local bodies.
