Rotary 3181 district aims to install 75 silicon chambers : Governor

Kodagu: Rotary 4181 district Governor A. R. Ravindra Bhat said that the  Rotary has launched a programme  called ‘Samskara’ and aims to build 75 silicon chambers.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday November 16 he said that the construction of 23 silicon chambers is already underway. Each silicon chamber costs
between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 20 lakh and all the silicon chambers were donated
by Dr. D Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala while the rest of the construction was done by Rotary with help of the donors. The Rotary district has total of 90 clubs and aims to build at least 75 silicon chambers.

He said Rotary had already achieved 100 per cent of polio eradication programmes across the country and had taken up many social programmes.

This time, the Rotary district has put a lot of emphasis on environmental protection and sowing bamboo plants,. He said Rotary already sowed more than 8 crore  bamboo seeds in forests and that at least 4 to 8 lakh bamboo saplings would come up.

He said that Rotary has distributed Mathematics and Science books called Vidya sethu worth Rs. 250 to Rs. 5.5 lakh students in the State for just Rs. 100 with the help of institutions. He said blood donation and
medical tests have been conducted for around 10 lakh people this year. He added that the public cooperation is essential for pro-people programmes, which will help the last person to get facilities.

Rotary Assistant Governor H. T. Anil, M. K. Prakash Kumar and Secretary D. P. Dharmappa were present.
