SIRC, SICASA of M’luru to hold virtual CA students’ national conference

Mangaluru: Mangaluru Branch of SIRC of ICAI & Mangaluru Branch of SICASA has been bestowed with a golden opportunity to host a Virtual CA Students’ National Conference by the Board of Studies – Operations, ICAI this year and this opportunity will enhance the glory of the year for the Branch. The Conference under the Theme “ANARGHYA” which means invaluable and priceless, with the tagline “Moulding Minds into Priceless Gems” is scheduled on September 3 and 4 (Fri and Sat) in the afternoons from 2 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. purely on virtual mode & more than 1,250 students from across the city, state & nation are expected to take part.

The two-day event will see the presence of the Torchbearers of our Institute, eminent guests & dignitaries gracing the event virtually as well as addressing our students. 4 Technical Sessions will be presented by 8 students & chaired by professionals who are domain experts, 2 Special Sessions will be engaged by Resource persons of International repute. Vasanth Kamath, Founder & CEO, Small case, CA. Jay Chhaira, Chairman – Board of Studies (Academics), CA. K. Jalapathi, SIRC Chairman will be present during the Inaugurals. CA. G. Sekar, Central Council Member, ICAI & Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice Chairman and Trustee, The Akshaya Patra Foundation have consented to be Guests for the Valedictory Session.

The Conference will certainly prove to be a value enhancer for all the delegates & the exposure will benefit them in their course as well as their career ahead.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is the second largest accounting body in the world, with a strong tradition of service to the Indian economy in the public interest. The ICAI is a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament, viz. The Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 for regulating the profession of Chartered Accountancy in India. The Institute functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. ICAI under its network has 5 Regional Councils, 163 Branches & 44 foreign Chapters along with Representative Offices.

Mangaluru Branch of SIRC (Southern India Regional Council) of ICAI is one among the 45 branches of the Southern Region & considered to be one of the most active & vibrant branch, the Mangaluru Branch recently celebrated its Golden Jubilee on 18th August, 2021. The Branch’s has more than 770 members registered under it & almost 4,000 students pursuing the course at present at various stages. The Mangaluru Branch has it premises at Padil with all the requisite state-of-the-art facilities & also has a Branch on 2nd Floor at Mahendra Arcade, K. R. Rao Road. The Branch has always been in the forefront in organising events & activities of varied interest for the benefit of its members & students. During the year the Branch has also focused on its part of Social Responsibility & undertaken several initiatives for the welfare & betterment of public at large.

Mangaluru Branch of SICASA (Southern India Chartered Accountants Students Association) is the Students Wing of the Branch & was set up on 07 Jan 1972. This year the SICASA unit also is celebrating its Golden Jubilee & a whole lot of activities ensuring value addition and knowledge enrichment have been organized even during the period of lockdown. Study Circles, Workshops, Seminars, Educational Tour, Industrial Visits, Quiz, Elocution, Sports events etc. have been a regular feature in the Activity List. The SICASA unit exclusively works for student welfare & strives maximum to provide a platform for the students’ fraternity to explore & excel.
