Spearhead Media Group holds A Thank You Meet in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A Thank You Meet was held at The Grand Magrath Hotel 30, Ashok Nagar, Bengaluru on Friday, October 1 at 6.00 pm.

The event was organised to celebrate Spearhead Media Group’s recognition by the Public Relations Council of India with the coveted All India Chanakya Award (PRCI). The Group was awarded with Media House of The Year 2021 by the Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at a programme held in Goa, recently.

The event’s guests of honour include K. Mathai (KAS/, Former Deputy Commissioner (Market) BBMP, and Fr. Swebert D’Silva SJ, Rector, St. Joseph College (Autonomous). The Chief Guest for the event was T. R. Parasuraman, Immediate Past President – BCIC and President & Whole Time Director, Toyota Industries Engine India Pvt. Ltd.The event started with a prayer song by students of St Joseph’s College, Bengaluru.

Director Canute J. Pinto welcomed the gathering and made the prefactory remarks.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Swebert D’Silva said, “when looking at Spearhead Media, I see this great commitment for excellence. They are able to draw a big number of audiences to this due to the relevant coverage that they give, which is appropriate to the modern times.”

Media has got a great responsibility in the education of students, he said. Media has to give the actual data of what is happening around rather than going for sensationalism, he added. He expressed that media should do good for the society and make the news very clear to the people.

Mentor and Advisor of Spearhead Media Group CA Valerian Dalmaida explained the growth of Spearhead Media, women empowerment and about the Chanakya Award. “We are a different media. Our vision is to give voice to the voiceless. From the inception we have made our vision clear. Through all our shows we have brought out such stories.”

He explained how the media house gave the platform for international Kannadiga federations in each country to speak about their problems and bring to light many achievements.

Valerian spoke aboutmany parts of the media like Village TV, Amazing people, NewsKarnataka, NewsKannada and so on which has had a huge impact.

“With many start-ups and MSME’s driving innovation and technological advancements, the path ahead should be towards accelerated progress. We will conduct an impact analysis prior to venturing out into any new strategy and the evaluation derives will help us ensure our branding and outreach efforts are steered in the right direction,” he added.

During his speech, K. Mathai said that media has been and will always play a prominent role in the society. “Development in the media field is definitely possible. Being the fourth pillar, Media can play a role which even the legislature, executive and judiciary cannot play,” he said.

Meanwhile Jayaram lauded, “the team of NewsKarnataka worked creatively and has spread the news all parts of the world. There was a tough competition, but NewsKarnataka excelled in all parameters and managed to get the award for best media house.”

T. S. Parasuraman said, “The pandemic has created an unprecedented situation, where nobody knew what next? amid that NewsKarnataka has received the best media house award which is a great achievement.

These days there are countless forms of media. Media houses must work to provide the right information to the right audience in the right quantity. The crux of the news is the need of the hour, he opined.

He expressed that New Education Policy (NEP) will transform India. The move of the Karnataka Government to implement NEP is great and he advised media houses to spread awareness regarding this.

Sameera Fernandes, Advisory Board Member said, “As a responsible news channel spearheading positive change, all our efforts are directed towards growth and revival of the business community. With over 3.5 lakh subscribers spanning across 60 countries, effective and directed outreach to our intended consumers must be the only way forward. Energising lives and reviving the business community will now be put on an accelerated mode to take the news channel forward. Global outlook and outreach too will ensure that the news entity paves way to startups, MSME’s and help bridge connectively across diverse sectors.”

Spearhead Media received this honour on the occasion of its decennial year of service to society and the media sector.
