Mangaluru: Every individual has a unique spiritual journey, and is in a certain place on that journey in the present moment. Everyone has a desire to grow into a deeper relationship with God and to be more open to the Spirit moving in their lives.
The Management – Bethany Educational Society (BES) organised a Retreat program for the staff of St Theresa’s School, St Sebastian School Bendur, Mangalore and St Joseph’s School, Kankanady, Mangalore on Dec 4 at Bethany Mother House, Bendur, Mangalore.
The session commenced at 9 a.m. Mrs Sangeeta introduced the Resource person Rev Fr Melwin Pinto SJ, Rector, St Aloysius Institutions and Sr Lourdes, Principal offered a floral welcome.
The resource person stressed the following points.
1. Teachers must get nourished by teaching.
2. Try to change oneself and change for the better.
3. Not to remove attachments, but put an order in the disordered attachments.
4. Teachers need to be vessels of love that overflows and can reach out to others.
5. God Experience: How have we experienced it?
This Retreat was indeed the need of the hour, as it provided an opportunity for the staff to reflect and rejuvenate themselves after a year and a half of a pandemic outbreak. The resource person guided the staff in meditation. Teachers were enriched by the session and were encouraged to take a break from their daily busy schedule to think and organise. They were motivated to appreciate themselves and realize that none of us has a fullness in ourselves but in reality beyond us.
The session concluded with a group discussion in which participants shared stories from their lives in which they had experienced God’s love firsthand. Mrs Veena proposed the vote of thanks.
