Mangaluru: Rev Dr Ronald Serrao, Rector of St Joseph Inter-Diocesan Seminary , Jeppu, inaugurated the Tredecina(Thirteen days novena) by hoisting St Anthony’s flag in preparation for the annual feast of St Anthony. He then offered the Holy Mass and preached the homily. In his homily Fr Serrao said that the proper way of pleasing God Almighty is spending our lives in the service of humanity. These days there are many people who need our help. If we reach out to them and try to lessen their problems that would be the best way of worshipping God. Mother Mary whose feast is celebrated today did that very same thing, he said.
During the thirteen days, novena prayers will be offered for various needs( labour, unemployed, parents, suffering humanity) and specially for overcoming ‘Covid 19’.
Fr Roshan D’Souza, Asst Director, conducted the novena prayers on the first day of the novena. Fr Onil D’Souza, Director of the Ashram gave the introduction. The novena devotions are live streamed in Divine Word TV and other social media as lay people cannot participate in person.
