Mangaluru: An orientation program for Youth Red Cross Volunteers and three days Workshop on disaster management including first aid & mock drill was organized by Yenepoya Nursing College, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) Youth Red Cross and Department of Community Health Nursing in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, Dakshina Kannada on April 1
Hon. Secretary Kusumadhar B K, IRCS, D.K inaugurated the program and highlighted the role of Red Cross volunteers in serving society. Dr Ibrahim Nagnoor, consultant in Community Oncology Yenepoya TATA Onco Center and Professor & HOD, Public Health, Yenepoya Medical College appreciated the initiatives of the Youth Red Cross. Dr Leena KC, Dean, Yenepoya Nursing College in her presidential address stated the importance of conducting workshops for the Youth Red Cross Volunteers. Sacheth Suvarna, Director, Youth Red Cross/JRC subcommittee, IRCS, Dakshina Kannada was present.
Bharath Kumar, District Fire Officer, Fire and Safety Office, Mangaluru and his team demonstrated the fire and safety measures through the mock drill.
