Mangaluru: The eleventh Pingara Rajyotsava Prashasti will be presented by the Bishop of Mangalore, Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, at a grand function on November 17, 2015
The organizers of the event have invited applications for the award, which will be given out for the eleventh consecutive eleventh year. The press release said that achievers in any field – sports, cultural, political, social, at the local, state, national or international level, born in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod can apply. Applications can also be sent in by well wishers of the achievers. The release said that the last date for submitting the applications is the 10th of October, 2015 and must be sent to “The Convenor, Pingara Rajyotsava Prashasthi 2015, Bishops house church building 2nd floor, Kodialbail post 575003”, or by Email at pingaara@gmail.com
Previous awardees include, Journalist Kuntadi Dayanada Pai, Karkala of the Kannada Prabha in 2005, Dr. M. Mohan Alva of Alvas Education Foundation in 2006, Walter Nandalike, founder Editor in Chief Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd. in 2007. Mrs. Grace Pinto, founder of Rayan International Schools in 2008, Dr. D Veerendra Heggade Dhamadhikari and president Dharmasthala Rural development project in 2009, Mandd Sobhan Konkanai Cultural Association Mangalore in 2010, Dharmadarshi Harikrishna Punaroor in 2011, Jaya C Suvarnain 2012, Eric Alfred Correa in 2013, and Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre, Pamboor Catholic Sabha in 2014.
The release said that the jury for the selection of the eleventh awardee, include the Mangalore Bishop Rt. Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza as the guiding patron, Roy Castelino, President ,Konkani Sahitya Academy, Karnataka, as the Convenor, Dharmadharshi Harikrishna Punaroor former president Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bangalore and the Jt.
