Managluru: In order to celebrate Mangaluru and its awe inspiring creativity and innovation, ‘Made in Mangaluru’, an initiative, by Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, is set out on the largest search ever for Mangaluru’s greatest invention.

The event will be organised in association with Landmark Infratech promoted by SS Realty as the presenting sponsor. It is powered by Fiat Hanuman Cars and associated by Electrical Point, two of Mangalore’s well known established. Newskarnataka.com is the online media partner of the event.

Like any other talent search, Made in Mangalore will crown the best invention from a large group of Inventors. The event will serve as a platform that contributes to providing recognition to Mangalore’s very own innovators.

This will be fulfilled through the process of registration. On registering only a selected few inventions will make it to the Top 10. The Top 10 inventors will get to showcase their inventions on a large platform in front of a large audience. These top 10 inventions will be judged by an experienced panel of judges giving the audiences their final three inventors from where the winner of Made in Mangaluru would be crowned.

All the participants will be felicitated on the day of the event for their participation and contribution towards Made in Mangaluru.

Auditions are open to both individuals and teams and to enter contestants need to explain the concept along with their product. The invention “must be something that is unique and made exclusively in Mangalore and its surroundings.” While auditions are open to anyone of any age with a great idea, all people under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Participants can register inventions that would fall under the sectors of Technology, Art & Design and other sectors. Under technology the sub sectors would be mechanical, electronics, software & application, gadgets and automobile. Under Art & Design the sub sectors would be paintings, sculptures, mosaics, fashion designing, jewellery designing and miniature crafts. Other sectors would mean any invention that has helped make everyday living easier.

The Criteria for selection would be eligibility, uniqueness, creativity and adaptability. I.e. the invention should fall within the sectors mentioned; the concept of the invention should be unique, creative and adaptable in reality.

Sectors that are not applicable are food & beverage, media & entertainment, agriculture goods, architecture & construction, tourism & hospitality, pharmaceuticals and service.

This registration process for the event is open for the participants from August 1st to August 12th 2015. During this period, the participants are required to submit the registration entries for participating in the event. Participants above 18 can directly walk in to Radio Mirchi office and register their names and participants below 18 years of age should register with the prior consent of their parents/legal guardians.
