Mangaluru: This was a very special day for very special Children. Children with Special Needs. It is not yet Christmas, but in anticipation of that special day, the Parents Support Group of Children with special needs led by Mrs Meena Noronha organized a Christmas party for them and their families. It was a vivid demonstration of how special they were and the meaning of Christmas – how caring can be shown by sharing – time, effort, and money.
MCC bank and News Karnataka.com provided the venue and ambience. The party began with the families getting to know each other through a formal introduction. And then there were games for both the Children and Adults. So many happy faces as everyone enthusiastically joined in.
Then it was time for the Children’s favourite Santa Claus, who joined the party amid carol singing and a heightened festive spirit. He charmed both the adults and the children – especially the children! He came bearing gifts for everyone present and awarded the Game winners. Newskarnataka.com launched the Drawing competition poster on Namma Ooru Namma Samskruthi.
There were snacks and chocolates to add to the spirit of the moment and Game Winners were awarded. Rotary Club and Newskarnataka partnered with this special programme, while MCC Bank sponsored the venue and other logistics.
Happiness is what happiness does! That was proved at this party. For the Parents of Special Needs Children’s support group, who organized this get-together, this party, was a special moment in their activities for these special children and their families. It brought the families together, and the concept of support was meaningful.
