Mangaluru: The Rotary Club of Mangalore City erected and donated a Baby Care Center Booth at the Mangalore City Junction Railway Station at their passengers waiting room. It contains chair, table, fan and mobile charging point. The Booth was designed to provide privacy for the mothers while breastfeeding their babies in the waiting room.
The booth was inaugurated by the Rotary International Dist. 3181 Governor Rtn. Ravindra Bhat on 28.01.2022, in his inaugural address he revealed that this is the part of the Rotary Club Mangalore City community development-oriented service project erected at a cost of Rs.25,000/- and handed over to the Railway Station Manager Sameer Patnaik. He thankfully acknowledged the gesture of Rotary and their concern for the lady passengers during their travel. He expressed his gratitude for the Rotary organization, it is a unique initiative by the Rotary and their humanitarian service to the lady passengers.
On this occasion Rotary Assistant Governor Rtn. Yathish Baikampady, Rotary Dist. Public Image Committee Chairman Rtn. Sathish Bolar. Zonal Secretary Rtn. Nithin Kamath, Community Service Project Director Rtn. Saritha D’Souza and Club Charter President Rtn. Dr Ranjan were present.
The main donor of the Project, Managing Director of Olympus Refrigeration Inc Managing Director Rtn. Sumith Rao was felicitated for his noble gesture towards lady passengers.
Club President Rtn. Canute Pinto welcomed all, Secretary Rtn. Basava Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.
