Inauguration of ‘Women’s Wellness Mobile Clinic’ on Jan 5

Mangaluru: The Women’s Wellness Mobile Clinic, a project initiated under Global Grant No. 2099338 of the Rotary Foundation in collaboration with Rotary Club of Silicon Valley, Passport and RI Dist. 6540, will be inaugurated at the Townhall in the City on Wednesday January 5 at 4.30 pm.

Rtn. Dr. Bharat S. Pandya, Past RI Director, Trustee (Elect) Rotary Foundation will inaugurate the function. Chief Guest of the event is State BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, South Mangaluru, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), U. T. Khader, MLA, Mangaluru and Rtn. Yathish Baikampady, Assistant Governor, Zone III will be the guest of honour.

Jathin Attavar, Project Manager, said “The Wellness Clinic Bus is donated by Rotary Club of Mangalore and it will be handed over to Yenepoya University Hospitals. They will run it with our help and provide free screening, treatment, and examination for women, especially those from rural areas. If you have a BPL card and are diagnosed with a disease or cancer, you will be treated for free at their cancer hospital.”

“Basically, this is a women-oriented project. We have spent around 1.25 Crore and this is the second mobile clinic in Karnataka. We have used high-efficient new machines inside the bus for providing treatment,” he added.
