Mangaluru: In a grand ceremony, Sai Radha TVS, authorized dealer for TVS Motor Company, was inaugurated in the city on Wednesday December 16. The showroom was officially opened by Laxmivarateertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, Udupi.
After the blessing and opening of the showroom, a formal ceremony followed which began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji, Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, Sports minister Abhaychandra Jain, Mangaluru City Corporation Mayor Jacintha Alfred, Bendore St Sebastian Church Parish Priest Fr Antony Serrao and other dignitaries.
Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji congratulated the Sai Radha Group on having started out this new venture and referred to the structure as a boat. “Unlike the many boats which come to the Mangaluru port and leave, this is a stationary boat which does not move. It is here to make home in the hearts of the people”, he said and wished the Group and employees all the success.
Bendore Church parish priest Fr Antony Serrao further congratulated the group on venturing out and setting up in Mangaluru after making a big name in Udupi. He also commended their efforts on providing employment to so many people through the setting up of this showroom.
Speaking about the need for investment in the city, Corporator Shashidar Hegde said that if more investors join hands with the government Mangaluru will be on the top. Mangaluru is going to be developed into a Smart City if more such ventures are set up here he added.
All the dignitaries were honoured with a memento and a shawl. Mahesh Kanolkar, the architect of the building was also honoured on the occasion.
Adding further excitement to the well-organised programme, the first 15 owners of brand new TVS two-wheelers were handed over the keys by the Sai Radha Group.
Corporator Sabitha Misquith, Managing director of Sai Radha Group Manohar S Shetty, TVS Motor Company Regional sales manager Arun Kumar, Regional manager (service) Jyothi Pashupathi, Area manager (sales) Abhijith Deshpande and others were present.
