Mangaluru: Weavers were certified in the concluding ceremony of the 150 days weavers training program at Talipady weavers Society organized by Kadike Trust held recently. The program was supported by Nabard Karnataka.
Sangeetha Kartha DDM Nabard lauded the success of the training organised by Kadike Trust and wished all the trainees well. Mamatha Rai, President Kadike Trust narrated the journey of Revival. She said the weavers certified were not only trained in weaving but also dyeing, winding, designing, warping, block-printing, embroidery and health and personality development. The number of weavers escalating from 46 to more than 70 in twin districts is a clear sign of Revival and thanked Nabard for the wholehearted support.
Gerald Rego Chief Managed Union Bank Kinnigoli assured the youngsters that Union bank is ready to help the weavers in their need of the hour. Sanjeeva Shettigar Senior 80 count Weaver and Nekara Ratna awardee gave valuable suggestions to trainees. President of Talipady weavers Society, Ananda Shettigar thanked Kadike Trust for the success of the program. Trainees were given certificates by the guests and shared their experiences. Madhava Shettigar M D gave the vote of thanks. Chikkappa Shetty, Secretary Kadike Trust compered the program.
