Family mysterious disappears after picnic at Bandipur resort
A Bengaluru-based family has disappeared under mysterious circumstances after checking into a resort near Bandipur in Karnataka’s Chamarajanagar district. Authorities from Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu have launched a large-scale search operation.
The missing individuals—40-year-old J Nishanth, his wife Chandana, and their 10-year-old son—had booked a stay at the Country Club resort on March 2. However, they abruptly left the next day, leaving their belongings behind. Their car was last traced to Mangala Road in the Bandipur forest area, but no further clues have surfaced.
Investigators have uncovered that Nishanth used a fake BBMP identification to make the booking, raising doubts about his intentions. The police are exploring multiple theories, including financial troubles, potential abduction by creditors, or a deliberate attempt to vanish. Nishanth was reportedly in severe debt, intensifying suspicions of foul play.
Superintendent of Police B.T. Kavitha visited the resort to assess the situation, and authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their search efforts.
This disappearance comes amid rising concerns over security in Karnataka, as seen in a recent Bellary case where a paediatrician was kidnapped for ransom but later released.
The search for the missing family continues, with investigators racing against time to unravel the mystery.
