Finally, smoother rides: Manyata roads get long-overdue makeover
After three years of deterioration, the roads inside Manyata Residency and Manyata Tech Park have at last undergone restoration. This Rs 8-crore initiative resurfaced 42 roads spanning 7.3 km within two months, easing daily travel for over 10,000 motorists and benefiting 1,500 residents.
Previously, commuters navigating through Thanisandra Main Road, Hegde Nagar, and the surrounding neighborhoods endured countless potholes and uneven stretches, leading to frustrating and hazardous journeys. With the repairs now complete, residents and employees within the tech park are experiencing much-needed relief.
However, concerns linger over the longevity of the resurfacing work. Social media users have voiced skepticism, with Tiger Ramesh describing the repairs as a temporary fix, predicting deterioration in a matter of months. Another commuter, Anoop, acknowledged the improvement but urged authorities to prioritize maintenance on the access roads leading to Manyata Tech Park.
The area falls under Byatarayanapura constituency, represented by Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, who explained that the BDA recently transferred Manyata Residency to BBMP, prompting urgent roadwork based on public demand.
Despite the progress, local voices continue to demand similar upgrades for the Outer Ring Road (ORR) service lane, which remains in dire condition. Residents insist that infrastructure development shouldn’t end here—sustained efforts are essential for long-term commuting ease.
