
Four of a Family Killed in Bellary Crash, Locals Demand Safer Roads
Bellary: A devastating accident near Jaisingapura in Sandur taluk on Sunday evening claimed the lives of four family members, leaving the local community in deep sorrow. The tragedy involved a collision between a car and a lorry, sending shockwaves through the region.
Tragic Journey Turns Fatal
The victims, residents of Lakshmipura village, were en route to Hospet hospital when their vehicle met with disaster. While trying to overtake a mining tipper, the car veered out of control and slammed into an oncoming lorry. The violent impact crumpled the car, resulting in instant death for four passengers.
Lives Lost Too Soon
The deceased include Asha (28), Jayalakshmi (21), and two young girls, Swati (5) and Bindushree (4). The surviving occupants, driver Ramesh and passenger Nandish (23), suffered serious injuries. They were first rushed to Koppal District Hospital and later shifted to Hubballi for advanced treatment. Mahalaxmi (3), another child in the vehicle, is currently in intensive care, her condition critical. Her heart-wrenching cries for her mother moved everyone at the hospital.
Police Respond Promptly
The Sandur police quickly arrived at the accident site and transported the deceased to the hospital. A case has been registered against the lorry driver, and a formal investigation is underway. Witnessing the grieving relatives at the hospital deeply affected everyone present. Locals voiced anger and demanded stricter traffic regulation and better road infrastructure to prevent future tragedies.
