Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s Candid Relationship: Verbal Banter, Trust, and Endurance
Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, have been married for nearly 40 years, and in a recent interview, Sunita revealed some candid details about their relationship. She shared that despite the long duration of their marriage, they still sometimes verbally abuse each other in a playful manner. Sunita explained that they address each other with Hindi words like “Abbe,” adding a touch of casualness to their exchanges.
In the conversation with Hauterrfly, Sunita admitted that they often indulge in “gali-galoch” (cursing) and even jokingly ask, “Are you my husband? I still can’t believe it!” Sunita also expressed her views on infidelity, advising women not to boast about their partners’ fidelity, as once a man starts cheating, getting rid of the other woman becomes nearly impossible.
Reflecting on the ups and downs of their marriage, Sunita said, “Now, it has been 40 years. When it happened, then I endured it.” Her daughter Tina added, “My mom is an intense lover,” emphasizing Sunita’s unwavering commitment to her husband. Sunita also shared a piece of relationship advice: “If you love, love with all your heart, otherwise, they can go to hell.”
Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in 1987 and have two children, Yashvardan and Tina Ahuja. In a throwback interview from 1990, Govinda admitted to briefly ending their engagement due to his infatuation with actress Neelam, but Sunita’s perseverance brought them back together.
