Kalaburagi: After the death of the 76-year-old man from Kalaburagi, who was confirmed to have died of a coronavirus (covid-19) infection, it has now come to light that the doctor who treated him has tested positive for covid-19.
This information was confirmed by the district Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday, March 17.
It is learnt that the 63-year-old doctor is among the 10 in Karnataka, who tested positive for covid-19.
Speaking to the media, DC Sharath B informed that the doctor and his family have been quarantined in their home. “He will be sent to the isolation ward today,” the DC added.
Meanwhile, two more people in the state tested positive for covid-19. One of the patients is a 20-year-old woman who recently traveled to the United Kingdom.
“We have got 2 more COVID-19 cases in Karnataka taking the total number of confirmed cases to 10. 20 yr old female who travelled from the UK is tested positive and another contact of P6 (Kalburgi deceased patient) is tested positive. Both are admitted in the designated isolation hospital,” Sriramulu tweeted.
In India, so far, there have been 126 covid-19 cases.
