
Health Camp at Mundaje: Over 130 Beneficiaries Screened
Mangaluru: The Research Innovations and Extension Committee and the Youth Red Cross of Father Muller College of Nursing, in collaboration with the Blood Centre of Father Muller Medical College Hospital and the Indian Cancer Society, conducted a health camp at St Mary’s Church, Mundaje, on February 9.
A team of 50 healthcare professionals provided services across 10 specialized departments, with medicine and obstetrics receiving the highest footfall. Cancer screenings were conducted for oral cancer (21), breast cancer (25), and Pap smears (21). Additionally, 22 donors participated in the blood donation drive, coordinated by Manoj P S.
Reena Frank led the cancer screening session, while Dr Devina Rodrigues and Criteria III members managed the general health camp. To promote awareness, Priya Sequeira engaged youth in a blood donation quiz, awarding cash prizes to winners.
By the end of the camp, 131 individuals had been screened, with parishioners expressing gratitude for the much-needed healthcare services.
