During the months of August-September, every couple, family or friends group search for the best places to visit during the monsoon near Bengaluru. Well, here, we provide you with ideas that give you a chance to enjoy the rain cleaned rocks and stones, freshly developed flora via treks you will enjoy. Trekking is the best idea to shift your everyday life to a whole different level. It’s an active addition to your life and one that you will enjoy.

Dudhsagar Trek
Dudhsagar Falls (Sea of Milk) is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the border of the Indian state of Goa and Karnataka. Dudhsagar Falls counts among tallest waterfalls (fifth tallest waterfall) in India with a height of 310 metres (1017 feet) and an average width of 30 metres (100 feet).

During the monsoon season, the falls are transformed into one of the most spectacular and most powerful falls in India. The waterfall is located in the western ghats of Bhagwan Mahavir Wild Life Sanctuary and Mollem National Park.

The waterfall is turned into the most spectacular natural phenomena when the water plunges hundreds of meters in large volumes during the rainy monsoon season. The area is surrounded by a broad-leafed forest and numerous species of birds, insects, plants and animals around here.

Tadiandamol Trek
Tadiandamol peak is at an altitude of 5735 feet and is the highest peak in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. It shows traces of the Shola forest in the range which translates into beautiful greenery.

Tadiandaomol Trek
This is one of the most elegant and fewer known treks in Karnataka. The peak can be approached from the base of the hill known as Nalakand palace. This journey will take you through a wide sketch of colours, sights and fragrances that you have never experienced before. It is a day trek which makes it even more feasible for city folks- whether avid trekkers or beginners.

Overall, Tadiandamol offers enchanting views while at the same time is not demanding too much physically, which makes it the perfect initiation trek for anyone looking to take up trekking seriously.

Nishani Motte Trek
Nishani Motte is one of the more famous weekend treks from Bengaluru. It offers the experience of mighty wildlife and the calmness of Kodagu also known as the Scotland of India. This wonderful 15 km moderate trekking trip starts from Bhagamandala forest range.

Nishani Motte Trek
The Nishani Motte trekking trail is part of the lush Tala Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary, which is a home to wild animals and thousands of species of plants. The trekking route to Nishani Motte is not well marked and therefore support from a Forest Department Guide is necessary. What you would not want to miss on your Nishani Motte trek is the ridge walk on the sides of the dense forest which continues till the descent towards the Animal Poaching Camp begins.

Trail type: Pristine forests, meadows, ridge walks and a summit.

Nandi Hills Trek
Nandi Hills, Bangalore comprises of 5 peaks namely Nandi Giri, Brahmagiri, Skandagiri, Chandragiri & Govardanagiri. Among these, Brahmagiri Hill is popularly known as Nandi One, which is the twin peak of Nandi Hill View Point.

The heavenly scenery of  the Nandi Hills sunrise is a well known attraction for everyone residing near Bangalore. Combine that with a trekking agenda and you are all set to experience one of the most famous trekking experiences around Bengaluru. Nandi one is about 45 kms from Bengaluru.

The lush green vegetation and patches that require boulder hopping are a treat to the senses. The viewpoints offer a bird’s eye view of roads cutting through farmlands below. So whenever work life start getting on your nerves, plan a trip to Nandi One with your family or friends.

Trail type: Trail covers thick vegetation and man-made steps.

Kodachadri Trek
The Kodachadri hills are located in the west of the Shivamogga district. The hills are at an altitude of 1343 meters above the sea level and is also recognized as a natural heritage site by Karnataka government.

The mesmerizing view of the Sharavathi backwaters, lush green meadows, jeep trails, dense forest and sheer drop before the peak is all you need to settle your nerves. During the monsoon the experience is at altogether different level. You may even get a chance to witness the sun setting into the Arabian Sea at dusk from the from Kodachadri peak
