Best beaches in Goa

Goa, the shining star of Indian Tourism, is a former Portuguese colony with a rich heritage and natural beauty. It is one of the top holiday destinations in India. It is famous for its beaches, casinos, carnivals, and late night parties. Goa has more than 30 beaches that offer something for everyone. It has a unique mixture of Indian and Portuguese cultures and generally, people come here for holidays, festivals and mostly during Christmas. Besides attracting tourists from all over India, the beach paradise also attracts a large number of foreign tourists, and to meet their demands there are more than 2700 hotels in Goa. Here is a list of the top six beaches in Goa-

Calangute Beach

Located just 15 kilometres away from Panjim, Calangute is the largest beach in North Goa. Due to its beauty and serenity, Calangute beach is popularly known as the Queen of Goa Beaches. This beach is famous for its nightlife, sports activities, parasailing, and golden glittering sands. It is absolutely perfect for food lovers as it offers authentic seafood, Goan cuisine, and drinks.

Baga Beach

Named after the Baga Creek, Baga Beach lies in the Pearl of the Orient. It is an incredible beach destination that finds its place on the ‘Best Beaches of India’ list. Known for its shack life, seafood, water sports, and fun park, this is an ideal place for people who love beach parties, drinking and dancing to lively music. Scuba diving at the beach is one of the most adventurous activities that one should not miss.

Morjim Beach

Known as the ‘Turtle Beach of Goa’, Morjim beach is home to Olive Ridley Turtles. This beach offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The calm ambience of the beach attracts a large number of tourists and is often referred to as “Little Russia” because of the large number of Russian inhabitants. Birds like Kingfisher, Cuckoo, Sandpipers, Bay-backed Shrike and Sand Plovers are common here.

Candolim Beach

Situated 15 kilometres away from Panjim, Candolim beach is a perfect place for complete relaxation. Candolim beach spans from Fort Aguada till the border of Calangute Beach. Candolim offers mesmerizing views at sunrise and sunset. It is normally inflated by scrub-covered sand dunes. The pristine touch, scenic beauty, and serene atmosphere of the beach draw a large number of travel enthusiasts from all across the world.

Anjuna Beach

Blessed with a bizarre array of rocks, this beach is situated 8 kilometres away from Mapusa town and is the most famous beach amongst foreigners. Apart from the gently leaning palm trees and the vast expansion of sand, Anjuna beach is home to hippies and is popular for its Wednesday Flea Bazaar, Wild rave parties, and full moon parties with trance music.

Sinquerim Beach

Sinquerim Beach is situated between the Aguada Fort and the Taj Holiday Village. Close to historic spots, this beach offers golden sands, picturesque swimming and water sports. Sinquerim is also famous for snorkelling, jet ski, banana ride, and parasailing. The vast number of water sports and water activities make this beach famous among the youth.
