We see ‘change’ in the World around us and we define in the best possible ways. Change is the process of growth or development of a being from one state to another, but Oxford dictionary says “ change is to make or become different or an act of changing”. This is our common understanding. We truly believe that change is necessary in every field, in vision of business it’s called growth, in Medical field it’s achieving, in art its improvement, physically its development.
Heraclitus a philosopher says “ No one can step in the same flowing water twice” this elaborates that change is a flow or it is a continual process. As every river has an origin this ‘change’ should have an origin. But this change is just an impact of the earlier developmentand something or the other influences this, this is called influential change.
Imagine any aspect of life, and put on this theory and it can be found out that change is influential. A Seed needs mud, water and manure to change into a plant, here the change is of seed to plant is influenced by mud, water and manure. In terms of business we can say that hard work influences growth. In physical or bodily growth also we can say that food and drink aids / influences development.
Then what about a dead leaf or a dead man? Yes, there is change in a dead leaf or a dead man. A dead leaf if crushed, changes its shape, if put in manure pit it changes into manure, if burnt becomes ash hence there is influence of hand to crush, enzymes and fire to change. There is some change in the human body, which causes decay, thusthere is influence of air and mud for the process of decay influencing change.
The concept of death can be taken off, if it is said that it is the state of change. “Death means an end of something”, but death doesn’t end anything it just supports change, because there is change in the body after death, thus it can be stated that there is no death as such.
Then what about feelings or emotions? Yes, this too is influential because for feelings to arise there should be some cause, for sadness there is an influence of some bad happenings and for happiness it may be some good happenings. There is influence of one thing or the other hence ‘ change is influential’.
Do God and Soul change influentially? Beings, which are visible, can be subjected to influential change and feelings; thesecan be imperiled to influential change because they arise in man. We are contingent beings, we believe that there is God and Soul, but we do not see them because they do not come in the realm of time and space hence cannot be subjected to change or influential change.
Thus change is not a State you are in now, change is just a process which affects everything. Change is like a bridge which take you from one state to the other without being known. Change is necessary. It is influential in nature. Let us try to have a positive thought towards it, because whatever change takes place takes places for good.
