The legacy of Apoorva Gokhale and Pallavi Joshi
Born into a family of legendary musicians, the sisters represent the rich musical heritage of the Gwalior Gharana. They are the granddaughters of the late Gayanacharya Pandit Gajananrao Joshi and great-granddaughters of Pandit Antubua Joshi, a distinguished court musician of the Aundh state.
The sisters began their rigorous training under their grandfather and later under their uncle and Guru, Pandit Madhukar Joshi, continuing the tradition of the guru-shishya parampara. Over the years, they have honed their skills under the guidance of maestros like Padmashri Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, Dr. Sucheta Bidkar, and others.
Their performances have been celebrated across India and internationally, with acclaimed concerts in Singapore, the US, and Canada. The duo’s repertoire includes CDs such as Flowering Buds and Madhumalati, featuring compositions in 26 ragas.
