Plasma therapy for COVID-19 patients permitted at Hubballi’s KIMS

Hubballi: After the state-run Victoria Hospital, the ICMR has now allowed state-run Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Hubballi to start plasma therapy for COVID-19 patients. This is the second hospital in the state to start plasma therapy to treat the disease.

According to sources in the state medical education department, which is managing the institute, plasma therapy will start soon.

The ICMR allowed KIMS to start this therapy are confirming that the Institute has adequate facilities to take up the treatment which is considered to be the best available one for COVID-19.

KIMS is the biggest public sector hospital in the entire North Karnataka region and is also the designated COVID-19 hospital for the region.
