New Delhi: A day after two minors were gang-raped in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday, October 17, said that the Delhi Police has completely failed to provide safety to women and demanded that its control be transferred to the state government from the centre.

Kejriwal targeted Prime Minister Modi and Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung for failing to provide adequate safety and security in the city. The Delhi Police is currently being monitored by the Home Ministry.

“PM sir, give control of delhi police to del govt for one year. If situation does not improve, take it back,” Kejriwal tweeted.

“Repeated rape of minors is shameful and worrying. The Delhi Police has completely failed to provide safety. What are the PM and his LG doing?” he questioned, in another tweet, before meeting the two girls who were raped.
