Lucknow: COVID-19 claimed the lives of two BJP MLAs in Uttar Pradesh on Friday April 24. Suresh Kumar Srivastava (76) of Lucknow West and Ramesh Chandra Diwakar (56) of Auraiya Sadar died of the virus in Lucknow and Meerut, respectively.
Srivastava died in a Lucknow hospital while undergoing treatment.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Adityanath expressed their condolences.
It was four days ago, Diwakar was admitted to a Meerut hospital. According to the reports, his health had worsened in the previous two days. Diwakar’s wife has also been tested positive with COVID-19 and is being treated in Kanpur.
