New Delhi: The post-mortem report of the child that died allegedly during the anti-encroachment drive at Shakur Basti on Saturday has concluded severe head and chest injuries to be one of the reasons for the baby’s death.
This reinstates the claims of the family members of the victim who said that the baby died during the demolition drive after some furniture fell on the child.
The report too states that the death could have occurred during demolition drive by the Railways following injuries caused due to some blunt object.
Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government and Railways are at loggerheads over the issue. The Delhi government have been blaming Railways for the demolition drive and child’s death, while the Railways have claimed that the slum-dweller were informer well in advance about the demolition drive and that they had nothing to do with the death.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabu, in his statement in Parliament on Monday has claimed that the child has died much before the beginning of the drive.
