Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met BJP National Chief and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the latter’s residence in Delhi, on Monday.
After the meeting, Fadnavis said that he discussed about the aid for farmers who have lost their crops in drought-related conditions in Maharashtra.
However, while everyone expected that the meeting will mainly revolve around the government formation in Maharashtra, Fadnavis refrained from making any comment on the topic.
“I don’t want to comment on anything anyone is saying on new Govt formation. All I want to say is that the new Govt will be formed soon, I am confident,” said the incumbent CM.
It may be recalled that the state of Maharashtra is witnessing a power tussel between coalition parties- BJP and the Shiv Sena over the issue of seat-sharing. The Sena-BJP coalition has bagged absolute majority in the recently held assembly polls. All was fine till the Sena started pressed for not only 50:50 seat sharing, but has been adamant over sharing of the CM’s post too on a rotational basis. The deadlock has been long drawn and there seems to be no solution emerging in this regard.
