Pune: FTII students who went on strike on June 12 against the appointment of BJP’s Gajendra Chauhan as its chairman on Wednesday ended their 139-day strike but said protests against him will go on. They also added that that they will not sacrifice academics anymore for a government that is “deaf and a bully”.
A FTII student body representative said that the students, while resuming their classes will continue protesting Gajendra Chauhan and other FTII members’ “political appointments”.
The students’ body has alleged that during their previous discussions with the ministry they were told that the government did not have the mandate to revoke the appointments. “We don’t know who is then running the government,” the representative said.
