Goa Guv emphasises on multi-skilling for growth at 15th Global Communication Conclave

Goa: Governor P. S. Sreedharan Pillai said, multi-skills are the need of the hour. Multi-skilling contributes to society’s growth and we must adopt them at the 15th Global Communication Conclave, ‘Communication for new decade, Mapping the Megatrends’ here at Hotel Fern Kadamba, Panjim, Goa on Friday, September 17 at 2.00 pm.

Delivering his inaugural address at this programme jointly organised by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) and Young Communicators Club (YCC), he said, “India is a classic example for the unity of the people. We Indians follow the concept of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam. Despite various languages, cultures, religions we are prepared to receive all the novel thoughts from every nook and corner.”

In his concluding remarks, he suggested PRCI to play a significant role in protecting and advancing the free flow of accurate information that is essential for the democratic society. Secondly, to ensure best practices in technology and techniques and finally to focus on research.

Apart from inaugurating the event, Governor of Goa P. S. Sreedharan Pillai also released the new publication of PRCI called Chanakya and Kautilya. Further, he gave away the coveted Hall of Fame and Memorial awards. M.B. Jayaram, Chairman Emeritus, Chief Mentor PRCI presided over the meeting. Dr. T. Vinay Kumar, National President of PRCI, Geeta Shankar, director of YCC Board, and B. Srinivas Murthy Vhairman GC were participated in the event.

The K.R. Singh lifetime achievement award was given to Elbert C. The Rajpal Memorial Awards for the communicator of the decade has gone to Sushma Gaur of New Delhi. Anil Vasu memorial awards for PR professionals was given to K. Balasubramaniyum, Mumbai. R. Sudarshan award for good administration and management was given to Colonel Y. Siddegowda. M.V. Kamat memorial award for journalism was given to Dr. Syed Humayun Jeffery. C.J. Jayant award for Best young communicator went to Kalika Jain of New Delhi.

Similarly, the PRCI hall of fame award was given to Ashimroy Choudary of West Bengal, Sriramgopal Krishnan of Pune, J.K. Mehra of Mumbai, Kalyan Bose of Bengaluru, Manjul Tiwari, Sheerin Samuel, Swaminathan and Vivek Atre of  Chandigarh.

YCC Kautilya award was presented on the same occasion. Young Poetess award was given to Amana of Bengaluru.

Situational Leader award was given to Naveen B. V., and Purvi Bhushan received Spirit of Youth Award. Ritika Meenkashi of Kerala bagged the award for excellence performing arts (drums), Pranay received the award for excellence in performing arts (theatre), Best Campaign of The Year Award was given to Rohan Ravindran of Mumbai. Shriya Mahajan bagged the award for excellent digital content. The Youth Blogger of The Year award was given to Sharla Menziz.

Mangaluru Girl Ananya bags Inspiring Youth of The Year award

On the same occasion Governor of Goa P. S. Sreedharan Pillai also presented the Young Communicators Club (YCC) Kautilya award. Ananya Hegde of Mangaluru bagged the Inspiring Youth of The Year award. Ananya was honoured with the award for her outstanding contribution to the youth and society.

Members of PRCI and other dignitaries were present.
