Guwahati/Mysuru: Rajeev Hosakote, a pilot from Mysuru was killed in a Dauphin VT-PHK helicopter crash that took place on August 4.

The charred bodies of Rajeev, Kamlesh Joshi, Deputy Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district and another pilot B M Mishra were recovered on Wednesday.
The helicopter is said to have crashed into a gorge between two mountains and was reported missing on August 4 while it was flying from Khonsa to Chabua in Dibrugarh. Kamlesh Joshi was on his way to attend a Home Ministry meeting in New Delhi.
“Unidentifiable lumps of the bodies were retrieved from the crash site today. Arrangements are being made for autopsy and identification in Dibrugarh,” said Arunachal Pradesh civil aviation secretary M S Brar
Parents of Rajeev rushed to Arunachal Pradesh soon after they came to know about reports of helicopter missing. His relatives and friends have expressed shock over his sudden demise.
“We had hoped that Rajeev would be safe and were praying for his safe return. I am shocked and pained. Rajeev was a good and decent young man, and added that he had come home just a week before the crash”, said Savita, one of his neighbours.
It is learnt that Rajeev, who was in his early 30s, had got engaged recently. His fathers is a civil engineer, and mother, a homemaker. He has a brother and a sister, both of whom work in Bengaluru.
