New Delhi: Bollywood actress-turned-politician Hema Malini has made a rather odd comment regarding the absense of a few of her colleagues, including BJP MP Gautam Gambhir, during a discussion of the rising air pollution in Delhi.

Responding to the media’s query about the absense of a few parliamentarians during the discussion in the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Urban Development, Mathura MP Hema Malini on Wednesday, November 20, opined that the other MPs were not interested in discussing the issue as the pollution in Mumbai and other cities are not that alarming when compared to that of Delhi.

She also stated that she had ‘no idea’ why the MPs had not attended.

Recognizing the negative impact of air pollution in the national capital, Hema Malini said, “Delhi’s air pollution is at its worst and we all need to put in our collective efforts to find the cause as well as the solution.”

It can be recalled that the committee had called for a meeting on November 15, which was skipped by 25 MPs. The absense of the MPs sparked a nation-wide discussion about the elected representatives’ behaviour.
