Saudi Arabia: For the first time in history, Saudi Arabian Women will be seen casting their votes in the upcoming Municipal elections, scheduled to be held on December 12.
As per media reports, 979 women are reportedly standing for this year’s elections and a total, 6,917 candidates have registered for elections.
Municipal elections were last held in 2011 in Saudi Arabia.
It was supposed to be held in 2009.
Amnesty International has welcomed the decision.
