Bengaluru: If the murmurs heard in the corridors of power are to be believed, then a gang that was blackmailing a few people’s representatives using women has been arrested by the CCB. The police is yet to make any official statement in this regard.
If sources are to be believed then this gang allegedly headed by a person from Davanagere has trapped several persons including a high profile leader. “The modus operandi was introducing themselves seeking projects and later sending women to meet with recorders,” explained sources.
The incident came to light when this gang demanded Rs.25 crores from a leader who in turn approached home minister Basavaraj Bommai. “If an investigation is carried out, the truth may come out. But as several high profile individuals are involved, an investigation is unlikely,” explained sources privy to the developments.
