New Delhi: India reported 60,753 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,647 related deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 2,98,23,546 with 3,85,137 fatalities on Saturday June 19. According to a report released by the Union health ministry , the total number of people who have recovered is 2,86,78,390.
The Centre informed that the relaxation of Covid-related lockdown regulations has resulted in crowding in several marketplaces and other locations. It also recommended states to follow the “very crucial” five-step policy of Covid-appropriate behaviour, testing, tracking, and treatment, as well as vaccination, to prevent the disease from spreading.
Various states are now unlocking and easing Covid restrictions after weeks of stringent lockdown restrictions, the most recent being Telangana, which declared the state’s complete reopening yesterday.
