Jaunpur Man Organizes Wife’s Wedding to Her Lover, Wins Internet for His Dignity

In an extraordinary act of maturity and grace, a man from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, chose peace over bitterness by arranging his wife’s marriage to her lover, thus ending their turbulent union with dignity.

Two years ago, the couple married traditionally in Khata Sarai. However, unbeknownst to the husband, his wife was already emotionally attached to another man, Yashwant Bind. Soon after marriage, she distanced herself from her in-laws and left under the guise of visiting her parental home—only to elope with Bind.

Rather than reacting with hostility, the unnamed husband remained composed. Hoping to mend the marriage, he brought his wife back and took her along to Noida, where he works. However, her emotional detachment remained unchanged. She continued communicating with Bind and made it clear she neither wished to live with her husband nor his family. She even warned of taking extreme steps if forced to stay in the marriage.

Realising the situation was untenable, the husband made a bold and compassionate decision. He returned to Jaunpur with his wife and invited Bind to the Durga Temple. There, with calm acceptance, he facilitated their wedding. In a video now viral on social media, Bind is seen applying sindoor to the bride’s forehead as her ex-husband silently blesses the union.

Speaking to the press, the husband said, “I wanted our marriage to work, but she loved someone else. Forcing her wouldn’t bring peace. I let her go, so she could be happy.”

His selfless act has sparked a wave of admiration online.
