Madurai: In a blood-curdling incident, a man was beheaded by an armed gang in broad daylight, on Monday and the victim’s head was thrown outside a church, in Madurai.
As per unconfirmed sources three people have been arrested in connection with the chilling crime. However, the reason behind the act is not yet known.
A video of the incident, which took place at Kizhavasal was recorded by a passerby.
The victim has been identified as Muruganandan, 22.
Muruganandan was walking with his friend, near a church when a car waylaid the two. Two armed men are seen grabbing Muruganandan and hacking him to death. However, his friend managed to escape from the spot.
The murderers then severe Muruganandan’s head and throw it outside St. Mary’s Church.
Police have also seized the car that was allegedly used by the armed gang.
