Mumbai: The Department of Kannada, University of Mumbai in association with various organisations in the City, organised a function on August 9 at the Annexe Auditorium of Kurla Bunts Bhavan.
Dinesh Shetty Renjala of a Kannada daily has written a research book titled “Mumbai Kannada Patrikodyama”. This was released by Sunita Shetty. The event was Presided by University of Mumbai Kannada Department Head Dr. G. N. Upadhya in which Federation of Bunts’ Associations President Aikala Harish Shetty, was the Chief Guest. Mumbai Bunts Association President Chandrahas Shetty, Jayashree Krishna Eco-Lovers’ Committee Founder Thonse Jayakrishna Shetty, Billava Association Mumbai  President Harish G. Amin, Shyam Sunder Shetty, Former President of Vikhroli Kannada Sangha, Kannadiga Journalists’ Association Maharashtra President Rons Bantwal, Kallur Nagesh, Senior Publisher of Mangaluru, Writer Poet Raman Shetty were present.
After the inauguration of the function in the morning in the presence of senior journalist Chandrashekar Palettady, Writer and journalists Shrinivas Jokatte presided over a seminar on “Mumbai Patrikodyama Andu-Indu-Mundu. Journalists Prakash Kunthini, Ashok Pakkala, Ashok Suvarna, Dr. Eshwara Alavoor, Vishwanath Amin Niddodi, Dr. Jyothi Satish, Justice. Amita Bagwat, Harish Moodabidri of Pune participated. More than 50 senior and junior journalists from the City were felicitated on the occasion.

Journalist Dayasagar Chowta and Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, University of Mumbai Poornima S. Shetty were host of the programme. As part of the cultural programme, SaReGaMa-Samagama was performed by Vijay Shetty Moodubelle and Kavya Shetty under the guidance of Surendra Kumar Marnad of Ailesha team.
