Mumbai: Fourteen Nigerian nationals were arrested for drug peddling in Mumbai’s Chinchpokli area, during raids conducted Byculla police on Friday, December 28.
During the operation the accused even opened fire at the police.
According to the police some of them had illegally entered India from Bangladesh. “They were into drug peddling and were hiding near Mira Road in neighbouring Thane district,” said Senior Inspector Dinesh Kadam of Byculla police station.
Contraband worth Rs 21 lakh, a 32 bore pistol and Rs 41,000 in cash was seized from them. The seized drugs included 550 grams of MD (a common recreational drug), 110 grams of brown sugar and 55 grams of cocaine.
