Pandit Vishnu Rajoria advocates for larger families to protect Sanatana Dharma
Pandit Vishnu Rajoria, president of the Parshuram Kalyan Board in Madhya Pradesh, recently sparked debate by proposing that Brahmin couples should have four children to protect and strengthen Sanatana Dharma. Addressing a gathering in Indore, Rajoria announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for Brahmin couples who choose to have four children, claiming that the responsibility of raising these children would solely lie with the parents.
In an interview, Rajoria emphasized that it is essential for Brahmin families to follow this mandate, stating that increasing the number of children will help preserve the values of Sanatana Dharma. He dismissed concerns about financial strain, asserting that India has ample resources and the government’s efforts are progressing the nation towards prosperity.
Rajoria’s call aligns with broader discussions happening across India, where population control measures and fertility rates are central topics. His appeal echoes a previous suggestion by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who has advocated for larger families due to the state’s declining fertility rates. The Andhra Pradesh Assembly recently passed a bill allowing individuals with more than two children to participate in local body elections, reversing the longstanding two-child norm.
The surge in these proposals comes as India, now the world’s most populous nation, faces challenges related to demographic changes and fertility trends. Rajoria’s remarks and the broader push for larger families raise important questions about population control and social responsibility in the context of India’s evolving demographic landscape.
