Kollam: A class 10 student jumped off the third floor of her school building in Kollam district of Kerala, after she was allegedly scolded by two of her teachers.
Gouri (15), was taken to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, where she succumbed to the injuries suffered as a result of the fall.
The girl’s relatives have claimed that she was repeatedly harrassed and punished for talking in the class. They also alleged that she was forced to sit with boys as punishment.
The Kollam police have registered an abatement of suicide case against the teachers.
In the aftermath, an assortment of student organisations took out protest marches during the day, resulting in security being increased in and around the school.
